Fight HPV Cervical Cancer in 3 Shots

In a fast paced world we live in today, we often ignore what our body has to say and the symptoms that might be present in our human temple. As a lady, we aren’t too aware what the dreaded HPV Cervical Cancer is all about and how do we prevent ourselves from being a high risk victim of this disease.

Just to give you a brief background of Cervical Cancer, it is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus or HPV that is penetrating the cervix area (lower narrow part of the uterus or the womb) of a female. Be aware that half of the cervical cancer cases occur in women between the ages of 35 and 55.

Bear in mind that there are different kinds of HPV that can lead to cancer.  There are low risk HPVs (HPV 6 and 11) that are seen in pap test and are blamed for genital warts while there are also high risk HPVs (HPV 16 and 18) that often leads to this kind of cancer.

Also, Cervical Cancer is the second most common cancer affecting female, next to breast cancer. On another note, this cancer is preventable and treatable so that’s one less problem for ladies out there.

Last March 21, Watsons Philippines posted about their recent program offering vaccination on selected branches nationwide for Php 2000 per shot. If you register before March 31, you get a 10% discount on the first shot.

At the moment, there is no recommended screening method for HPV or Pap test prior to vaccination. So you may head on to any pharmacist on Watsons to ask about this offer.

You can click the photo below to know the following Watsons branches where the Cervical Cancer Vaccination will be available:
