In case you missed our announcement, travel startup Tripkada launched its iOS app on Wednesday, February 7, at QBO Innovation Hub in Makati City.
On top of dishing out food and drinks, games, and freebies, the team shared their goal to make traveling even more accessible to many Filipino users. The Tripkada iOS app is an apt addition and will expand the platform’s reach.
Through the mobile app, Appleheads can start joining trips organized by fellow travelers aka trip-pooling. Through trip-pooling, they can simply book a slot, split the bill, and meet with individuals who share the same desire to visit a certain destination.
Tripkada is composed of over 300 organizers and has around 800 applications to process. A feedback system that allows travelers to rate organizers ensures the quality and safety of the trips.
“Being a trip organizer is not just for fun and games. It’s actually really providing a reliable service that people can feel secure going with,” said Tripkada CEO and co-founder April Cuenca during the launch.
At the same time, Cuenca added that Tripkada is a social enterprise. It is a scalable platform that seeks to help local communities. First launched publicly on Google Play in 2016 as FlipTrip.ph, it connects travelers to such areas found in off-the-beaten-path destinations in the country.
