Toyota has a long and varied history. Since the company started manufacturing cars in the 1930s, the brand has become known for many things, particularly comfort, performance, and even affordability. There is definitely a Toyota car for everyone, and this post takes a look at some of the best that the maker has to offer to today’s buyers.
Now, it is a known fact that one person’s best may not be the same as another’s. For this reason, we name top-rated cars in select categories. Here are our picks:
Price. At just above Php500,000, the Toyota Wigo is, without doubt, one of the brand’s cheapest offerings. It is also one of their smallest models. But price and size aside, its adequate features have earned Wigo the distinction as the Best Micro Car of the Year for 2014-2015.
Fuel efficiency. At a time of soaring oil prices, a car that isn’t fuel-thirsty is truly heaven-sent. The hybrid Toyota Prius may be on the pricey side (more than Php2 million), but its features and reputation more than make up for its cost. Its 2016 Eco variant was the all-time most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered car in the U.S. The Prius also brags comfort and stability, as well as a host of advanced security features.
Performance. The Toyota 86 is a sports car through and through. This stunner offers comfortable seats and plenty of potential. Its exceptional fuel efficiency makes it great for long trips, while superior handling means it can take a drift or two for a thrilling ride. If you want your sports car tough and versatile, then the 86 is for you.

Looks. This area is highly subjective, especially considering how Toyota has made beautifully-designed cars over the years. But if futuristic design is your thing, then you’ll love the FT-1. This model was originally designed to appear in a video game, but its popularity among fans convinced Toyota to bring it to the market. The car itself is yet to be released, but from its fan base’s reactions, it looks like the FT-1 is bound for legendary status.
