The life of a gamer can be pretty hard. These dilemmas can be as complicated as juggling multiple deadlines, or as mundane as waiting on a very long queue in a grocery store. This upcoming Christmas is even worse because some of us are having a time preparing for the upcoming holiday.
Lucky for us gamers, finding a stress reliever can be pretty easy as booting up a system or a few taps of the mouse. But if the gamer REALLY wants to relax from these everyday stresses, then we have the games just for you.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (WiiU, Nintendo Switch)
Nintendo’s biggest entry to the Legend of Zelda series is the ultimate explorer’s dream. Players can fish, hunt beasts, climb mountains, even visit the many towns and ruins all over Hyrule. Playing the game feels like a vacation, as players feel relaxed and invigorated after finishing a session; even something as simple as riding your horse in the open field literally takes your breath away!
Journey ( PS3,iOS)
This indie darling is one of the best relaxing games of all time. The game has barely no enemies or boss battles so players are encouraged to interpret the wanderer’s purpose. The game brings a sense of mystery as players are treated in a journey of self-discovery in a barren wasteland. The minimalist art, and well timed music also helps making the game a feast for the senses.
Abzu (PS4, XboxONE, PC)
Dive deep in a colorful world under the sea! Abzu is the type of game that lets you forget about the hot muddled mess of real life, and dive down in the cool laid back wonder of the ocean. The fluid, swimming controls, and the beautiful score combined with colorful sea life provides a relaxing atmosphere for the player.
Flower (PS3, iOS)
The award winning puzzle game was really ahead of its time. The game was a beautiful piece of art with painted landscapes and an advanced physics engine. Players control as the wind, using flower petals to heal a once broken world. The wonderful use of color and music provides players with a breathtaking experience while the puzzles gives them a necessary challenge (two birds in one!).
Stardew Valley (Multiplatform)
Have you ever worked in an office and dreamed of packing everything and escape to a simpler life? That is basically what Stardew Valley is- a beautiful farming sim with an easygoing pace. No pressure, no stress; just you, the earth and the occasional monster. Talk about a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
So there you have it, the games you need to try out to shoo the tensions away. So grab a mouse, keyboard or console and game away!
