Spotlight on Mr. Adam Liaw at the HistoryCon 2017

Adam Liaw is a cook, writer and television presenter based in Sydney, Australia. He is the author of five cookbooks. His latest, The Zen Kitchen, is available in stores now.

His television series, Destination Flavour, has travelled through Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Scandinavia and Singapore, and won the 2016 AACTA award for Best Lifestyle Television Program.

Mr. Adam Liaw had over 300,000 followers on his social media accounts. Mr. Adam Liaw also had series meet and greet with fans and cooking sessions during the HistoryCon 2017 and Fyi, Home and Living Fair held from August 10 to 13, 2017 at the World Trade Center.

Interview with Mr. Adam Liaw

1.) What do you think makes food taste great?

Answer: Paying attention to the quality of the ingredients but in reality seasoning is balancing just five things: salt, sweet, sour, bitter and umami. Flavoring, on the other hand, is adding new flavors to a dish.

2.) What makes you passionate about cooking and who is your inspiration?

Answer: My inspiration would be my wife, family, friends and people who are you serving.

3.) Is there really no chance of getting back to your old job?

Answer: Not at this moment, Although my procession is a lawyer. I am currently focused with my recipe cook books and television.

4.) Where do you traced your family roots?

Answer: I have spent time in a lot of different places and I try to not limit myself too much just doing one thing. I was born in (Malaysia) My dad’s side of the family is Chinese and my mum’s side is English. I have lived in Australia and Japan for a long time, spent time in China and traveled around South-east Asia.

Liaw’s origin is in Hainan island, Southern China. We have a different language spoken.

5.) What do you want to say to all your social media followers in the country?

I would like to ” Thank” all my followers and I am loving all the foods that i have tasted in the Philippines.
