Scoot Reveals Aggressive Growth Plans after Merger with Tigerair

Scoot, the budget-friendly medium-to-long haul arm of Singapore Airlines, recently merged with Tigerair Singapore. The three-time Best Low Cost Airlines in Asia Pacific retained the Scoot brand as they position itself for a new chapter of growth.


During the unveiling of their new slogan “Escape the Ordinary” and the announcement of their five new destinations held at the last September, Scoot presented their aggressive growth plans which includes route network that will span 65 destinations across 18 countries by June 2018 and the five newly added destinations Honolulu for Scoot’s maiden US destination; the second long-haul destination after Athens, Herbin in Northeast China, Kuching and Kuantan in Malaysia and Palenbang in Indonesia; and the special promotional fares out of Philippines for selected destinations. The cabin crews are also outfitted with new uniforms in a refreshed design of Scoot’s signature yellow and black colors.



Of the five new destinations announced, Scoot already launched sales for Kuching, Kuantan and Harbin. There will be daily flights to Kuching and three-times-weekly flights to Kuantan starting October 29 2017 and February 2, 2018 respectively. Three-times weekly flight to Harbin will operate on a seasonal basis starting December 1, 2017 to March 23, 2018. Scoot will also add new seasonal non-stop flights to Sapporo in Japan this November 3, 2017 until February 11, 2018 with up to two flights a week, on top of existing flights routed via Taipei.
