What is your current state of mind before we continue with the interview? Rank Game sa ML (Mobile Legends). Haha

When did you first know you wanted to become an stage actor?
When I was in high school, we were always required to watch theater plays in Teatro Marikina. I was so amazed and curious to discover the magic of theater. Naks!

What was the first show you ever did? And hows the experience?
High school play: Ibong Adarna. Professional theater: PPB! Pangarap, Panaginip o Bangungot: Operetang Palaisipan. You’ll always be missed). But I’m still proud and happy for that opportunity and experienced.

What has been your favorite role so far?
Apat? pwede ba?
– Hamlet “Hamlet”
– Marco “Cleansed: Ang Paglilinis” (Thesis play namin).
– Romeo “Romeo at Julieta”
– At ang Parokyano sa “APAAP” (Ang Parokyano at Ang Pokpok).

Have you ever played someone of the opposite gender? (If not do you want to try it?) What was that like?
I haven’t tried it yet. But why not?

What show/shows are you currently working on?
Haha

Have you ever forgotten your lines, or a prop, or choreography during a performance? What happened?
Yes, sa final production namin sa isang subject nung Uni days. Ang hirap lang nun kasi director at actor ako at the same time dahil sa kakulangan ng actor. Nakalimot ako ng linya. It was an awkward silence then cricket moment (kuliglig mode haha). Pero the show must go on.

What is something that you know now that you wish you knew when you were first starting out as an actor?
Read. Read. Read. Aminado naman ako, I’m not a fan of reading books but I’m working on it now. Everytime I see some interesting articles especially about Arts (Photography, Theater, Acting, etc.) I can’t stop reading it. Also about foods and businesses.

Besides acting, what other training have you had (voice, dance, stage combat, etc.)?
BPO trainings. haha..

How do they memorize alot of lines?
What is important is getting to know your character and the story of the play kasi once na nabasa mo na yung script, easy na lang yung flow ng pag mememorize mo ng lines. Tama ba? Hehe

If you could choose, what three actors would you really want to work with?
Sharmaine Buencamino – A Mom/ Teacher
John Lloyd Cruz – Idol!
Liza Soberano – Sorry na, Fanboy. Crush ko talaga sya.

Why do you think theater is important?
Because Theater is Life. It’s a reflection of reality.

Why do you think so many aspiring actors end up giving up on their dream?
Maybe because they don’t have enough patience to get into it.

What is something embarrassing or unexpected that happened to you on stage?
Memorable talaga yung Hamlet days. Hahaha 😂

What are some of the greatest fears you think actors/actress face?
(Aw. Ang lungkot naman nun). Kahit saang field naman siguro.

What do you need in order to become a successful actor?
Mukhang wala pa ko sa posisyon para magsalita about it. Pero I think tulad ng sinabi ko, PATIENCE, HARD WORK, at PUSO, idagdag pala natin ang RESPECT.

What makes a good stage actor in your opinion?
Someone who is always willing to learn and know how to listen.

What are the pros and cons of being a actor? Please be specific.
Pros.
– You can be anyone you want to be.
– You can be an inspiration.
– You can use it as an outlet.

Cons.
-You can get rejected a few times. (Pwedeng mas maraming beses pa kaysa nung nabasted ka).
– The projects of an average actor is not regular and it does not pay very well.

What goal are you working towards within your career and when will you know you have reached it?
I want to pursue my passion as an actor at kung kaya, I want it to be my profession.

What organizations do you belong to?

What advice would you give to someone who wanted to do what you do?
PATIENCE, HARD WORK, RESPECT, AND PUSO are the keys.

How do you see yourself 20 or 30 yrs from now?
A loving husband. And I want to be ‘not the best’ but at least a great dad for my kids and a good provider for my family. And I want to keep performing, di lang sa theater, sana pati sa tv and film industry na rin

What legacy you will leave on?
A simple man with BIG DREAMS.

Any final message? Its time to shine!!
This is my first time to be interview with those questions and be feature on an online magazine, so Thank you so much for this opportunity, Sir Axl Guinto. Maybe some of you are still asking kung sino Ako? No worries, same question as mine when Sir Axl asked me for this interview. But hopefully this will help you guys to know the Artist side of me. And for all aspiring actors, never stop dreaming, always believe in yourself, strive for knowledge, and remember those keys (Patience, Work Hard, Respect, at PUSO). But for now, gaya nyo, sabay sabay muna tayo mangangarap. God Bless us all! PUSO!
