Road To Barcelona: Milo Philippines and FC Barcelona Kick Off 4-Year Partnership

Milo Road To Barcelona

Milo Philippines and FC Barcelona officially launched the 4-year partnership last August 16, 2017 at F1 Hotel in BGC, Taguig.  Through this partnership, Milo Philippines provides the opportunity for the kids to be trained by the coaches of the world-class football athletes of FC Barcelona.  They will also have access to the home stadium of FC Barcelona in Camp Nou.

Road to Barcelona

Milo Philippines launches Road to Barcelona, a selection camp that will scout athletes in and around Metro Manila. A team of 10 kids will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience of participating in a training camp to be held in Camp Nou.

Mr. Willy de Ocampo, Business Unit Manager of Milo Philippines

“We are proud and honored to have one of the biggest football clubs in the world share in our commitment to build champions through sports. It is our hope that this values-driven partnership helps build kids’ dreams and realize them through the Road to Barcelona program. We’re inviting the local sports community to be part of this four-year journey with FC Barcelona,” said Willy de Ocampo, Business Unit Manager of Milo Philippines.

Chosen players must have the right mix of skills and values in accordance with Milo and FC Barcelona’s standards.  FC Barcelona prides itself with five principal values that are aligned with Milo’s brand essence of nourishing ambitions – humility, effort, ambition, respect, and teamwork.

Selection camp

Invited participants from different football communities will undergo an extensive training during the 2-day selection camp happening on September 2-3, 2017 at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City. The official shortlist will only have ten members. Only 2 deserving athletes will be granted an all-expense paid trip in recognition of their skills and values. The remaining eight will be chosen based on the local camp ranking system.

The young footballers who will represent the country in the Milo-FCB camp in Barcelona happening in October will be selected and deliberated by an expert panel composed of executives and officials from Milo Philippines, The Philippine Football Federation, Ignite Sports Group, and the Spanish coaches of FC Barcelona.

Milo and FC Barcelona’s global partnership started in November 2016 when Milo has become the official cocoa malt beverage of the team.
