Tagaytay is known for having possibly hundreds of distinctive country style hotels. Today there’s a baffling number of options from which to choose. Keep reading if you’re looking for somewhere you wanna be mollycoddled but still balmy enough to enjoy the great outdoors.
Canyon Woods Residential Resort was born in 1997, situated along the snaking Diokno Highway in Laurel Batangas. Governed by a fine team of hospitable people, it’s the total destination for rest and relaxation. There are a lot of R&R hotels in Tagaytay, of course. But Canyon Woods was one of, if not the first, that caters to all your leisure needs in lovely rural settings with such positive personnel. Most hotels present no more than the recreations of a picturesque old home, an enjoyable view, and some appetizing dishes. Canyon Woods accommodates all our growing demands: spas, warm pools, and activities. A perfect getaway. This place delivers comfort, good food, and the delights of living on a hill, stunning in its green and blue mountainside livery.
It’s the countless activities you can do at The Clubhouse that makes it special. First, they provide a shuttle service to and from anywhere inside Canyon Woods. The most jovial of all hospitality people attend the log cabin fashioned structure. Here, you’ll find a restaurant, a spa, a gym, a mini theater, children’s playroom, family entertainment room, and a salon! The restaurant has a wide array of delightful choices from Korean, American, to Filipino cuisine that are as familiar.
But for all that, the Clubhouse is admirably upstaged by its view while dining! A view of the Taal Lake and Volcano foregrounded by greenery. Pro Tip: Order the Sizzling Bulalo! It’s the greatest! Another comely installment at the Clubhouse is the indoor pool where the heated jacuzzi completes the experience. They also have function rooms that can accommodate about 400 people. An ideal choice for intimate special events such as weddings and debuts.
The latest addition to Canyon Woods’ growing edifices yet. Two towers with modern country frontage attesting to Canyon’s expansion with the changing times. The condotel is about 7 minutes away from the Clubhouse on foot. Pro Tip: Take the stairs down to the Fun Center and exit at the side walking to the Peak. Saves more time and energy if you’re not taking the shuttle.
At The Peak, you can choose between two rooms: Junior Suite and Studio. I stayed at the Studio. It takes in two full beds, a desk, a cabinet, a mini fridge, a balcony, and one toilet and bath. Linens are fresh and staff are genial. Pro Tip: Order food before 9:00PM as room service ends at 9. Rooms overlook an outdoor infinity pool with a breathtaking view of pine trees lining the sky. There are also function rooms in the building for corporate requirements.
Around Canyon Woods
A well maintained nine-hole golf course is on the other side. Positioned about the course are townhomes with a style of a marriage between contemporary and country. A lagoon sits in the middle of the course.
Canyon Woods also has a well-kept Chapel minutes away from where we stayed. The Chapel is an idyllic venue for intimate ceremonies.
Sports facilities sit around the area as well. Down the rustic paths are a covered basketball court, tennis courts, another outdoor pool, and a jacuzzi.
All in all, if you’re in for R&R that’s both cozy and sophisticated, peaceful and spoiling but practical, Canyon Woods is the perfect pick! When it was time to go home, we made arrangements to go back again the same month. It’s really that good!
Pro Tip: Do not tire yourself driving for the perfect R&R. Rent-A-Car! Avis Rent A Car Philippines offers an array of services like Chauffeur-Driven and Point to Point or City Transfers. They also provide Shuttle Services. The driver that we got was so awesome, the whole trip was hassle-free and fun! Try it and thank me later!
