The country’s biggest and most prestigious real estate awards program, PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, recently launched its sixth edition for 2018 in a well-attended press briefing held last August 3, 2017 at the New World Makati Hotel.
For more than a half a decade now, Philippine Property Awards has recognized outstanding examples of world-class property development across the country. Real estate industry in our country has evolved over the last few years and quality projects are being launched not just in Metro Manila but also in other key provincial cities like Metro Cebu, Metro Davao and even Iloilo and Tagaytay, where previous awardees have hailed.
For the 6th edition awards, there will be changes that was approved by the independent panel of judges to further diversify the categories of the awards system to acknowledge the emerging market conditions due to the continuing emergence of innovations in design, production, and marketing among Philippine developers.
With the existence and call for smart communities and looking at the project’s smart city principles, sustainable design and carbon-emission management system, additional recognition for Best Township Development and Best Township Design is added.
Adding to the two township categories are accolades for Best Alternative Housing Development (to recognize owner-managed housing projects intended for transient workers, students and the elderly); Best Mid End Condo Development (Metro Manila); and Best Affordable Condo Development (Cebu).
Several categories such as Best BPO Office Development, Best Mixed Use Development, and Best Universal Design Development that were added last year remain for the 2018 edition after being well received by local developers.
During the launch Terry Blackburn, founder and managing director of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards said, “The Philippines Property Awards is the benchmark of excellence for the sector. It continues to lead in recognising innovation and emerging asset classes for the benefit of consumers.”
The nominations for the Philippines Property Awards are now open for the public until February 16, 2018. Eligible entries for the Developer, Development and Design completion categories will be accepted until February 23, 2018. Final shortlist of nominees is to be announced on March 28, 2018.
The PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards 6th annual gala dinner and awards ceremony is to be held on Friday, 27 April 2018, at the Fairmont Makati ballroom where the shortlisted nominees will be honored as Winners or given Highly Commended distinction. Three hundred of the country’s key senior industry figures from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao is expected to attend.
