PHLPOST Issued Cartoon-Style Stamp to Commemorate National Teacher’s Month

 Teacher’s Month is celebrated by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and the Department of Education (DepEd). This event has unveiled a special cartoon-style commemorative stamp featuring the unique role and service that teachers play in building the nation.  This is to highlight the opening of the month-long celebration of the National Teachers Month for 2017. 

The ceremonial unveiling of stamps honoring the school teachers nationwide was held at the Department of Education (DepEd) main building in Pasig City.

The cartoon-style stamps designed by PHLPost in-house creative artist Rodine Teodoro features an illustration of a happy and dignified Filipino teachers and their students wearing a set of clothes of their chosen profession. It also incorporates the logo and text of My Teacher, My Hero.

This year’s National Teacher’s Month (NTM) focuses on the theme: Gurong Pilipino, Kaakbay sa Progreso (Filipino teachers, Partner in Progress).

Postmaster General Message

“Through stamps, we pay tribute to our beloved and hardworking teachers who play an important role in shaping the future of the students under their guidance and care”, Postmaster General Joel Otarra said.

Technical Description

PHLPost also printed 80,000 copies of the special stamps measuring 40mm x 30mm and sold at Php 12.00 each. One can use the stamp to send letters , postcards and greeting cards to their favorite teachers and professors. 

The public is also encourage to visit schools and help rebuilt the schools and libraries in conflict areas like those in Marawi in Mindanao.

 Teacher’s Month Nationwide

The theme for the 2017 National Teachers’ Day is GURONG PILIPINO: KAAKBAY SA PROGRESO.

Teachers are the fiber of society – without them, there would be no other profession.

We recognize the important role of teachers as partners in sustainable and inclusive development. They are essential conduits of quality education.

The celebration started last September 5 and will end until October 5, 2017.

Also, the “ National Teacher’s Month” stamp comes with a  souvenir first day cover envelope which are now available at the Post Shop, Central Post Office, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and area post offices nationwide. For inquiries, please call 527-01-3
