Philippines ranked 3rd for the happiest country in the world. This is according to the 41st Annual Global End of the Year Survey, making Malacanang pleased with the result.
Based on the survey conducted by Gallup International, the Philippines earned a net score of +84 while Fiji was ranked 1st as the world’s happiest country.
According to Communications Sec. Martin Andanar, despite the apparent period of absence in the history of the country, Filipinos shows hope and enthusiasm.
According to Secretary Andanar, in the coming years of the Duterte administration, they are determined to give meaning and foundation to the satisfaction of the people through prosperous economy, effective governance and long-term peace and justice.
Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said that the survey results are no longer surprising because Filipinos who are well-known to be happy inspite of all difficulties and challenges they face.
“Even in the bleakest and dire moments of our history as a nation, Filipinos have shown their immense capacity for hope and happiness. The 41st Annual Global End of the Year Survey merely reaffirms this well known facet of the Filipino’s character. While Gallup places the Philippines as the third happiest country in the world with a net score of +84 and two places behind Fiji, many Filipinos will agree that we are the happiest people in the world despite our circumstances. In the coming months and years of this administration, we are determined to give greater substance and a more solid foundation for our people’s happiness through a booming economy, effective governance, enduring peace and justice, “said Sec. Andanar.
