Be the Perfect Prom Date

Can’t wait for the big night? That one night you’ve waited for since the start of your junior (or senior) year. You spent so much on that one perfect gown, and praed to God all these months for your dream guy to say yes. The pinnacle of a high school girl’s life: the PROM. Enjoy your prom night. Remember you’re the star of the night, so don’t allow to have rotten time. You deserve to enjoy it!

Be yourself

If you think the prom is about putting on a new self and being uncomfortable, you got it all wrong. Guys like dates who keep it real; don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. Being yourself shows confidence, and guys really dig that.

Be a good conversationalist

If our date is too shy to start conversation, take the initiative. Keep the conversation light, smart and witty. He’ll like that. If you keep quiet too, chances are, you’re in for a boring evening. Look for common interests. Get to know one another. Once someone gets the ball rolling, keep building it up, and you’ll be fine. Just don’t overdo it, an equal amount of “talk time” will be okay.

Don’t ever leave your date

He is your guest. Don’t leave him sitting at the table alone, no matter how boring he is. It’s but polite to try and enjoy the evening with him. If it turns out to be a challenge, try throwing a few jokes and witty remarks to get him in a chatty mood.

Make the most out of your prom

Don’t be too critical, especially when the school falls short on certain details. Even if the invite isn’t nice, the food sucks, or the prom ends too early that what you had expected, it doesn’t matter. Bottom line is, you’r still having fun-filled and memorable time with your closest buds and new acquaintances you made. Give your date a call after to thank him. After all, he shared with you the most-awaited event in your life.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead, put on your ruby slippers, click your heels three times, swipe your red lipstick and hope for the best. In reality, there’s no such thing as perfect. But you can have an unbelievably grand time if you follow the tips listed above.
