NBA Star Steven Adams and Former NBA Coach Reggie Theus Headlines NBA 3X Philippines Presented by AXA Finals

The 2017 edition of NBA 3X Philippines presented by AXA hold its finals last July 22-23, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall where Oklahoma City Thunder’s Steven Adams and former NBA coach Reggie Theus headlined the event in front of full capacity crowd.

The two-day event is the culmination of the search for the men and women who will participate in the 3-on-3 tournament. Preliminary was held last July 15-16 at the Don Bosco Technical Institute.

The NBA 3X has been gaining popularity in recent years and talented basketball athletes, amateur and professional, are crazy about it. With NBA’s partnership with AXA, one of the leading and fastest-growing life insurance companies in the country, the 2017 NBA 3X Philippines served as a platform to elevate the 3-on-3 basketball in the country.

During the NBA 3X weekend, the crowd were entertained by the world famous Laker Girls with their amazing dance numbers. Various activities also filled the weekend where the crowd saw Steven Adams and Coach Reggie even joining the 3-Points Shoot Out Challenge.

In an interview, NBA player Steven Adams said that he was excited meeting the Filipino fans and working with the talented athletes from across the Philippines at NBA 3X. This is Adams first time visiting the country and so far he enjoyed his stay.

The competitive 3-on-3 tournament includes division for boys (under-13, under-16, under-18, and open category), girls (under-16 and open category), Celebrity Division featuring local personalities like Vince Hizon to name a few, and a new division exclusive to AXA employees and distributors. All participants received NBA 3X jersey with special prizes for the winners in each division.

NBA 3X Philippines 2017 is presented by AXA Philippines together with official partners CloudFone, Globe at Home and Globe Prepaid, Panasonic, SM Mall of Asia Spalding. It is officially broadcast by ABS CBN Sports and Action, Basketball TV, and NBA Premium TV.
