Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska Holds Successful Three-Days National Training Camp

Eight Boys and Eight girls were chosen as the newest all-stars of Jr. NBA Philippines 2017 presented by Alaska during the National Training Camp  held at the Don Bosco Technical Institute last May 12-13 and at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on May 14.

Culled from among the brightest of 72 boys and girls that came from the Regional Selection Camp staged in Cagayan de Oro, Lucena, Cebu and Manila earlier this year, they embodied the NBA global youth program where boys and girls are taught fundamental skills, builds character, and the promotion of active lifestyles for Filipinos nationwide.


For this year, Orlando Magic guard Elfrid Payton and former WNBA All-Star Sue Wicks joined Jr. NBA Coaches Chris Sumner and Jeffrey Cariaso in training and working with the young campers throughout the National Training Camp.



During the final day of NTC, Jr. NBA Asia Advisory Council members which includes NBA Legend Dikembe Mutombo were present to witness the momentous occasion. The fifth edition of the Jr. NBA All-Star alumni game were also hosted by several past Jr. NBA All-Stars who have ascended in the amateur and collegiate ranks. They also joined other alumni for the first ever alumni homecoming of the Jr. NBA Philippines program.
