Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Ice Seguerra has renewed his recording contract with Universal Records. The contract signing was held on February 27, 2018 at the Universal Records office in Quezon City. Present during the signing are Universal Records Executive Vice President Ramon Chuaying, General Manager Kathleen Dy Go, Operations Manager Peter Chan, Head of OPM Production Ito Rapadas, and Ice.
Ice released his first album under Universal Records “Araw Gabi: Mga Awit ni Maestro Ryan” in 2015, which was Certified Gold. Talking about his upcoming second album, Ice said “I feel very excited working with Universal Records again, especially as music is transitioning to the digital age. At the same time, I’m very happy to be working with people I trust because they let me put myself out there [with songs I personally wrote.]”
Ice Seguerra is best known for being part of Eat Bulaga and his hit song Pagdating ng PAnahon which has become the themesong of couples who have broken up and yearns to have a second chance. This song has become a classic and was constantly played on the airwaves for months when it first came out.
Ice Seguerra entered the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs contest back in 2013 as the interpreter for the song entry called “Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa,” written by Jovinor Tan. He performed the song in the grand finals on February 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The song eventually finished in first place for Best P-pop Love Song thus rewarding the writer of the song with one million pesos in cash
Ice is currently preparing to record original songs and is set to release his album’s first single during the second quarter of 2018. This comes as good news to his fans who has been awaiting when his next single will be out and finally, it will be out during the second quarter of this year.
