Gushcloud International, an influencer marketing and entertainment company, will launch its 9th office in Japan, with investment from D2C Inc., a Japanese digital advertising and marketing company established as joint enterprise between Docomo, Dentsu and NTT advertising. Headquartered in Singapore, Gushcloud has a strong presence in Southeast Asia, – with operating offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam – as well as a presence in Korea and the United States.
The company represents more than 12,000 social media influencers and online content creators, reaching out to more than 600 million fans across these 8 countries. The launch of Gushcloud Japan aims to focus on the company’s expansion into the North Asian market with three key aims.
Firstly, to engage Japanese brands and agencies to help them reach out more effectively to a larger Southeast Asian audience. Secondly, to work with local influencers and content creators to help them build a larger presence in and outside of Japan.
Lastly, to create more opportunities for influencers and content creators across Asia to cross collaborate on various projects. A PWC report recently published in August 2017 noted that as of 2015, there were 11,328 Japanese companies which had expanded their operations in SEA.
Thailand has the biggest number of Japanese companies with 4,788 (30.4%), followed by Singapore 2,821 (17.9%), while the Philippines has 1,334 (11.8%) Japanese companies expanded in the country. Japanese investments to Asean nations have tripled to 20.1 trillion yen (9.4 trillion pesos) from five years ago till the end of last year and these investments will continue to grow.
The Philippines is also welcoming increasing investments from Japan where recently, 18 letters of intent between Japanese and Philippine companies, and government agencies, were signed. These business deals are worth $6 billion (₱310 billion) in new investments and joint ventures. “Japan has the 3rd largest advertising market in the world.
The investment by D2C Inc. a key joint venture of Docomo, NTT and Dentsu will allow Gushcloud to enter the Japanese market with confidence. We hope to bring our best practices and deep know-hows about the Southeast Asian influencer marketing industries to educate the Japanese brands.
This will enable Japanese brands and agencies to work with and through us to engage more effectively with a larger audience size in Southeast Asia. Majority of these visitors comes from Southeast Asia – the markets where Gushcloud has a strong presence in.

Gushcloud Japan will also be setting up her office within the same premises of the D2C office. This will allow both companies to work even closer together to establish a footprint in Japan and the growing Southeast Asian market. This move will be led by Mr Ng Siang Hang, newly appointed CEO of Gushcloud Agency.
