bayonetta 2

Bayonetta 2 (WiiU)

Fun fact: this acclaimed action game was almost doomed to NOT get a sequel until Nintendo provided the funding. Beside that minor setback, Bayonetta 2 is an outstanding sequel, complete with tight controls, and incredibly fun gameplay. Gamers can chain different moves and defeat huge bosses. Almost every fight feels like a cinematic experience that never stops! Plus, the game starts at the middle of the holidays so it’s thematic.

Nier Automata (PC, PS4)

From the genius mind of Yoko Taro comes a dark tale of robots ruling over humanity. In the game, YorHa, the last human organization, created androids to wage war against the machines for the glory of mankind. The Nier series of games are known to be dark and melanchonic. Players are treated with a story that is deeper than what appears in the surface. The game’s branching paths and multiple endings keep the players intrigued of the full story that Nier Automata is trying to convey. It also helps that the game controls well and the characters are really interesting. This game is a must-have for any dark role-playing fans out there.

Abzu (PS4)

Tired of the intense action and dark tales from this list? Just relax for a moment and enjoy something slow for once. Dive down through the calming seas as a mysterious diver in Abzu.
