Beauty Forecast 2017

We finish the look that’s trending in 2016 with glitters of gold, silver and ruby colors. Here’s our hair and makeup forecast for 2017 as told by beauty expert friends.

Hair Style

Ombre hair style is still in

Women of style have let their lengthy hairs sway on these past years. The updo look shall rule in 2017. Hairs will be brushed up into striking updo’s with extreme textures, enhanced by lavish accessories. It will be favored for its no fuss practicality and laidback day-to-night transition. Both Ombre and Balayage hair styles will still be in trend. Ombre, for those who do not know yet stemmed from the french word meaning shaded. Ombre hair color generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends. Meanwhile, Balayage is also a french word meaning “to sweep,” a freehand technique in which swatches of hair are sectioned and hand painted against a backing board with a lighting agent.

Cut and color is also equally important
Cut and color is also equally important

The previous year has taught us one fundamental thing about hair: it’s totally okay to chuck it off! A lot of celebrities began a new wave of hair trend. Those trends will continue to follow through as short, cropped-cuts are expected to remain the “in” look.

True tones and exceedingly saturated colors are the fad for hair color in the year of the fire rooster. If it’s copper, it’s striking penny. If it’s blonde, it’s honey. And if it’s dark, it’s charcoal and nothing short of it. Gray hair, pink, purple, green, red and blue are also still in trend. Although Ombre and Balayage have taken the fashion industry by storm in the previous years, this year, 2017, it transforms into a subtler version of itself, leaving only small flecks of light to complement the strong color they accent.

Pastel shades will be dominating in 2017. Popping lipstick colors like bright orange and plum lips will complement the muted tones of pastels. Orange lips are practically flattering on just about every skin tone.

Natural beauty will be the highlight of 2017. Makeup junkies, however, can still wear the all-natural look with makeup provided they keep it very minimal. Primers and moisturizers are good bases to achieve healthy-looking glow before dabbing small amounts of CC or BB creams and concealer on needed areas. For a hint of color on the face, use a neutral blush along the apples of the cheeks.

Bold swipes of smudgy, edgy liners–paired with almost nothing else-make quite a statement in 2017. Makeup experts say that the messier the smudging is (without reason please!), the hotter the look will be.

Didn’t we mention pastels would rule this year? Pastels such as blue, green, purple, and pink (yup, even pink) are hot picks for eyeshadows. Just remember not to apply too much to achieve the pastel finish of the colors. With such beauty forecast, you’re sure to have one fabulously fashionable year!
