We are finally at the final stretch, dear readers! After the terrifying lists of horror games in the last article, how about we go to a happier direction with comedy? Here are the most look forward comedy films this 2018.
1.) Ocean’s 8
Release Date: June 8, 2018
A literal sister sequel to the hit heist film Oceans 11, a group of thieves must work together to get the big score. Ocean’s 8 is a big surprise as the movie follows an entire female cast with Sandra Bullock as the lead. The story is about criminal mastermind, Debbie Ocean and her seven other female thieves try to pull off the heist of the century—to steal a necklace worth $150 million. As a fan of the Ocean’s series, this writer is both excited and nervous at the same time. Some people are worried that Ocean’s 8 might fail because of it having a female cast. But if the story holds up and it retains the same fun aesthetic of the old films, then it might become a hit on its own.
2.) Game Over, Man!
Release Date: March 23, 2018
From the creator of Workaholics comes a dangerous action comedy inspired by Die Hard. Three friends must level-up and become heroes when their workplace, a Los Angeles hotel, is taken hostage by evil gunmen seeking a large ransom. This great comedy can be watched at home at Netflix on its release date.
3.) Super Troopers 2
Release Date: April 20, 2018 (US)
The time is meow! After the 2001’s cult comedy gained massive success, Super Troopers 2 follows the return of the five wacky state troopers. This time, they are planning to set up a new highway station while the US and Canada dispute the location of the border.
4.) Isle of Dogs
Release Date: April 20, 2018
From the whimsical mind of Wes Anderson comes a stop-motion animated comedy about a boy who is searching for his dog. It’s been awhile since Wes Anderson created a stop-motion comedy since The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Knowing his brave and whimsical style of filmmaking, this movie will surely be a treat.
5.) Black Dynamite 2
Release Date: 2018
Michael Jai White’s blaxploitation comedy just teased fans for a sequel in his Twitter feed. Another teaser was released in January 30, 2018, which reveals the premise of the second film— Westerns. Now, this writer is no expert or anything but the last blaxploitation western that showed up is Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Which leads us to ask, are they trying to parody obscure versions of the film? Who knows, it’s too early to tell.
There we go! The final conclusion of the series of movies we look forward to this 2018. If there are other movies in these lists that you recommend, right it here on the comments below.
